3 ingredient Homemade Lip Balm Recipe

Homemade Lip Balm Recipe

What you need:

  • ½ Cup Grated Beeswax
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 tsp Almond Extract or essential oils
  • Clear Lip Container (found in target travel section or HERE)
  • Double Boiler (I recommend these)

Directions:

To make your Homemade Lip Balm you will need a double boiler to melt down your beeswax and coconut oil. I highly recommend one of these broilers. Fill up the bottom portion of your double boiler with water and set on high fire and bring to a boil. While you’re waiting for your water to begin boiling you need to take your beeswax sticks and grate them up finely. This will help them melt much faster and smoother.

Pour your beeswax into the top portion of the double boiler and add in your coconut oil. Allow it to melt down to a liquid and then add in your almond extract or essential oils.

Give it a quick stir, remove from heat and immediately pour into your clear lip container.

The liquid will set up to a lip balm base in about 5 minutes. Once it’s solid it’s ready to use, enjoy.
Isn’t this so easy? Anyone can literally make this any day of the week. From every day use to making these for gifts, homemade lip balm are a blast to make. This easy basic recipe can be adapted many different ways. You can add color or you can add different essential oils to change this up.
Are you ready to give this recipe a try?
